My Story

My story involves anything from a white lab coat to a black police uniform! Being partially paralysed and trekking and wild camping along the 630-mile-long trail.

But most importantly, not giving up!

I used to live to please others, resulting in staying in an abusive marriage and making decisions based on values that did not belong to me.

Everything changed when I gathered courage to take my first small step towards my life.

I left the abusive marriage and to feel safe and help others like me I joined the police.
But I missed being close to nature.
Despite loving my role, I felt that this was not my 'destiny'.

But once again,
I did not have the courage for changes - and this is when everything changed for me...
I became disabled - overnight - I lost everything as a result.

AND THIS WAS THE BEST THING THAT HAPPENED TO ME

Losing everything meant I no longer had to fear about, well, losing things! I was free!
I defied my disability and set off on the adventure of my life: walking and wild camping on the South West Coast Path. After 71 days, I completed this challenging National Trail and recovered from tremors, paralysis, and muscle weakness.
I still had so much to do, recover from cPTSD and rebuild my life. But that was okay - it takes time, and I was ready to put in some work.

Apart from working on making my dreams come true, I also realised that I had built a community and felt responsible for sharing the healing power of nature. For inspiring others to go out and connect with the natural world, to wander with wonder, and to bring nature to those who are not able to leave their home.

I'm hoping that, we can not only connect with nature but also protect it together - join me on my project:
